The main street of Gion. Hanamikoji Dori is a street not to be missed, especially in the evening when it looks beautiful when the lanterns are lit up. We were hoping to catch a glimpse of a Geisha here and we thought we were lucky

It is the main street in Gion, Kyoto. The Distance is about 1km. If you walk this street, you can feel as time-sliped in ancient city. How about walking you putting on kimono?

Gion「Hanamikoji,dori,Street」 Kyoto's traditional geisha area, lined with tea-houses. If you are lucky, you can see maiko or geisya on her way to tea house.

An old Geisha street that is beautiful, broad, and stone-laid... and also extremely crowded at all times of the day. Hanamikoji Street and its myriad of alleys are lined with Kyoto's traditional machiya wooden houses and restaurants that serve high-end Kyoto cuisine. Be respectful of the Geishas if you see them walking down the street. Many tourists crowd them with camera lenses big and small.
