Carl Schurz Park

Most people from out of town never venture over to see this park but it really is worth it. There is a very nice path that runs right along the East river where you can watch the ships pass by. It's very peaceful and a great place to unwind and relax.
Nice park for running and views of the river. Gracie Mansion, the home of the Mayor is in the park. More peaceful than Central Park, only locals come here.
This is a larger park, which provides views of the East River and also access to the East River Bike Path, for longer river walks.

“Looks like a speakeasy on the inside. There's no sign outside - the place almost seems hidden”

“There are plenty of great brunch places on the UES to sit outside on a sunny day and do some great people watching. Café d’Alsace is definitely one of them. It is a popular upscale French brunch spot with a lovely ambiance. The Belgian waffle, topped with fresh strawberries, strawberry coulis, whipped cream, and organic maple syrup, is a favorite order for many. Café d’Alsace also serves dinner and the top dish for many is the Steak Frites—certified price hanger steak served with red wine sauce, brown marrow, and French fries. “Even tastier when you match it with a beer from its beer list,” says Triplemint Agent Brad Lauren.”

“This “tiny” UES dessert shop is “the place to go” for “standout” cupcakes (and special-occasion cakes), “tall, creamy” cheesecakes and “incredible” scones; it’s also a “popular” stop for “coffee and a biscuit”.”

“Hidden on a side street, it's a little bit of London in New York. Bartenders who remember you and your order, plus some great food. They do not serve liquor, but they have a nice beer and wine list.”
