For a peaceful walk with beautiful scenery I’ve been here several times. And during part of the warmer times of the year there are so many butterflies to be seen nearby. Around the Christmas holidays they normally have live music Christmas lights and my favorite was the hot apple cider drinks.

Desert Botanical Garden is an extremely thoughtful place with the most wonderful living art collection on the planet.
This is only 15 minutes away and you should devote about 2-3 hrs in the garden. It has numerous different desert plants amount beautiful red rock. Stroll through the tranquil garden and lose yourself.
Large Botanic Garden! Great place to spend the afternoon. Also has a great restaurant onsite.

“For a great Animal viewing experience. Plus there is a unique "smaller" hiking trail nick named "Holy Mountain" - because of the large holes in the mountain (one that you can actually walk thru for nice pics. It's located about a 1/4 mile on the left as you face the Zoo entrance. The official name is Papago Park, located at 625 N. Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ.”

“This is a world class museum that features only Native American artists. It tells the story and displays the work of Native Americans over hundreds of years. I was a volunteer guide here for ten years and many of my acquaintances still are. Some doing this effort they love for over 45 years. Arizona is rich in Native American history and art. You will not be disappointed with this experience. The first female Supreme Court Justice, Sandra Day O'connor, was and may still be at the age of 90 plus years a member of the museum.”

“Absolute best spot on a mountain to view the Phoenix Valley. Be aware, although it is a short hike, the trek can be rather steep in some areas. Moderate-high difficulty level. Very popular hike in the city so hike out early if you'd prefer to avoid crowds.”

“Beautiful area of ponds, pinic areas, bike trails and hike trails. Their are a few parks with ponds to check out some Arizona wildlife. The Hole-in-the-Rock is the reddish mountain formation. The hike trail there is easy and short, but again, a popular spot for sunset views of Tempe.”
