The village of Dirleton is so pretty and this castle and its gardens situated right in the village is a lovely visit. There's lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the castle ruins and we love wandering round imagining it in its heyday.
Dirleton castle is a few miles drive away from Dunbar and is well worth visiting. The Archerfield estate (home of the Renaissance golf course which hosted the Scottish open in 2019) is close by and has an excellent restaurant for breakfast or lunch. They brew their own beer there!
Dirleton castle, in the picturesque village of Dirleton, 3 miles west of North Berwick. This medieval fortress dates back to the 13th century. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens.

“Set high on a cliff edge and featuring a massive red sandstone curtain wall built in the 1300s, Tantallon Castle is Scotland's last grand medieval castle abandoned after 300 years having seen it's fair share of sieges. www.historicenvironment.scot/visit-a-place/places/tantallon-castle/history”
