Great place for Steaks and Seafood. Enjoy a drink by the river. Stop by the general store or grab a quick burger as you enjoy the scenery!

If you're in the mood for a steak, head upriver about 20 minutes to the historic Mcnally's. This is an old school steakhouse & lodge that has just come under new, improved ownership & renovations and is worth the trip. The drive from Kernville is along the Kern River and very scenic. Especially nice as the sun is going down. There's also a great burger stand that's a good spot for lunch on your way up or back from the Trail of 100 Giants. Lots of cool dioramas in the dining room too! Call ahead for a reservation on weekends.

Johnny McNally's is a local favorite. They are a steakhouse, but also offer chicken and seafood. Established in the 1940s this restaurant has been highly trafficked for many years. Their steaks are great and the view up the canyon is breathtaking.
