Hands down the best seafood joint in Wellington, and some of the best service too. This is fine dining without the stiffness.

If you love seafood, Ortega Fish Shack is worth a visit if you can get a booking! Great atmosphere - downstairs very busy and vibrant, and upstairs a little more laid-back. Excellent food and an extensive wine list. All the dishes are good, but don't miss the oysters if you're an oyster lover. 10 - 15 minutes away by car.

Quite simply, the food is amazing and the setting is lovely in an old villa up Mount Victoria. We tend to go here for special occasions and usually enjoy pre/post drinks at Slim Davies next door.

Has been consistently voted best restaurant in Wellington. Lovely atmosphere and great menu....definitely try the chocolate mousse!
