Parc Zoologique de Jurques

Zoo de Jurques We’re generally not a fan of zoos but I highly recommend this one. It has active breeding programmes with a heavy influence on education. Set in a huge forest it feels far from ‘zoo like’. The enclosures are huge, appropriate and well kept. Animals are all in very good condition and…
Larger zoo, with some of the larger mammals. A bit more 'rustic' than Champrepus, and a little further to travel.
Lots of animals to see and lots to do at this well maintained Zoo in Normandy. Great day for all the family.

“Located only 10 min. from downtown Caen Festyland is the largest amusement park in Normandy. New attractions open each year such ERETIC for those who enjoy thrills, and VIKLAND for the younger crowd. KASKADE: round dinghies which climb to a height of over 15 m, descend over a course of over 60 m and then follow a route of more than 185 m of whirlpools and rapids. Picnic and self-service areas.”

“Parc zoologique très agréable à visiter avec des enfants, de nombreuses espèces avec plusieurs naissances dans le parc confirmant l'impression de bonnes conditions pour les animaux.”

Point of Interest
“Viaduc de la Souleuvre, Souleuvre en Bocage, 14350 This is the place for adrenaline seekers….or those who love scenery and watching! Either way it’s stunning. There is a passenger train to take you down to the bottom or bring you back up if the walk is too much (peak season). Keep toddlers close as there are some steep drops along the paths. Here you can bungee jump from the viaduct, walk across on a rope bridge, swing through the trees in tandem, zip wire, ‘go ape’ or ride the luge….or just enjoy watching everyone else in beautiful scenery. The Luge is age 3years and over and there is a also bare foot nature walk ‘jardin pieds’ for toddlers and playground at the bottom surrounded by a lovely picnic area with toilets. The café here is very reasonably priced and the food is good. Check opening times. ”
