The hike to the falls is super easy. The trail is wide and not steep at all. It's very popular, sometimes even crowed. Our favorite time to go is fall in the late afternoon. It's just past Branbury State Park.
This trail is an easy half hour or so up along a pretty brook. At the top is Silver Lake, where you can swim in the summer.
Park at the Silver Lake Trail head. Easy hike up with nice views. If you bring your dog, please obey the leash laws.
Nice short hike to a pretty waterfall. Continue to Silver Lake. The trail has some of the oldest trees in the state (Vermont has been clearcut several times during the farming days)

“Branbury is located on the eastern shore of Lake Dunmore at the base of Mt. Moosalamoo. The Green Mountain National Forest is its neighbor to the east. Historically, the 69-acre park operated as a farm at the turn of the century, then as a guest house, summer boy's camp and private beach and picnic area. In 1945, it became Branbury (Brandon-Salisbury) State Park. The 1,000 foot natural sandy beach, clean, clear Lake Dunmore, and the large open grassy areas make the area very popular for swimming, sunning, or picnicking.”

“Small but mighty. Lots of good beer swag in this place. And if you are hungry, pop in next door to the Grapevine Grill for a groovy sandwich or Nancy's famous crab cakes.”
