Make sure you take time to visit this castle. It is an absolute gem! There is so much of this Norman castle standing...most definitely not just a ruin. Fun fact... Kidwelly castle appears in the very first scene of ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’!

Only a small car park next to the castle but there is a bigger one off the main road by the bridge. Dogs allowed & the kids can run around.

A great castle to visit...climb to the top of the tower and take in the view over Kidwelly and down the river towards the estuary...walk round parts of the ramparts...explore the rooms, the chapel and dungeons. Events are put on here over the summer...check Cadw sight for details.

Kidwelly castle is a mighty and imposing monument of Norman power. It is also a beautiful example of castle development.
