One of Puerto Rico's most iconic resorts. Boasts an 18-hole Arthur Hills designed golf course, its own water park, and the private island of Palomino. If you feel like giving the resort a little extra money, they also have a fully equipped casino with slot machines and games of all sorts. That said, it is currently understaffed and services are limited. Best to confirm availability of facilities in advance and bring your patience with you! FYI, by law ALL the beaches in Puerto Rico are public. So ALL the resorts must permit local access. Some resorts may try to minimize this with exorbitant rates for parking like the $30 flat fee the St. Regis Resort charges visitors, but they ALL admit visitors wishing to enjoy the beaches, bars and restaurants regardless of whether they are registered guests. Simply tell the security at their gate that you wish to access the beach or enjoy the dining and bars at the resort and they will gladly admit you. Most are also happy to grant you paid access to their golfing and recreation facilities as well. If in doubt, feel free to call the resort of interest in advance for confirmation of this policy.
