This 20,000 square mile lake, the second saltiest in the world, is also a wildlife refuge attracting millions of migratory birds every year to the ten islands within it.
The Great Salt Lake, located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Utah, is the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere, and the eighth-largest terminal lake in the world.
Amazing place to see and learn about. Brine shrimp make up the list of living creatures in the lake.
Float the Great Salt Lake! The lake is 8x saltier than the world’s oceans. Because of this, you can float without sinking. The lake is a little stinky and full of bugs, but a cool experience nonetheless.

“- 1 1/2 hour drive west of the airport. - During August and September, this area is the world’s fastest race course. It’s perfectly flat, has no vegetation and is massive. When there aren’t races happening, you can drive onto the flats (at your own risk) and go as fast as you want. - Fun fact: many movies have been filmed here, including Independence Day, The Pirates of the Caribbean and Need for Speed. ”
