Great daytime and nightspot, Very Historic. From its humble beginnings at the corner of Westport Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, Kelly’s Westport Inn has seen it all. Pioneer wagon trains filled with families heading west, Civil War battles, Major League Baseball Championships. Kelly’s is born of history and tradition and we hope you’ll allow us to become a part of your history and traditions. The building that Kelly’s occupies is said to be the oldest in Kansas City. It was constructed in 1851 by the Ewing Brothers. It was once owned by Albert Gallatin Boone, Boone operated an outfitting store in the building to supply the many covered wagons that began their long treks along the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. Boone left for Colorado in 1859. The building was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1959.
