Red Butte Garden is like a museum for plants, cultivating connection with living landscapes through plant displays and collections, education, conservation, and cultural enrichment.

These gorgeously tended Gardens require a payment for entrace, but are well worth the trip and a must visit for any local. You'll find a variety of flowers, trees, plants and other life with paved trails and plenty of spots for a picnic.
Like I mentioned in the blurb about The Living Room Trail, this is a nice place to walk around when the weather is nice. You can also pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of the tables there.
Red butte offers miles of trails through their gardens, benches to just enjoy the mountains or incredible views of Salt Lake City. In the summer, they have great outdoor concerts.
Red Butte is our local botanical gardens. It is a gorgeous place if you have a couple of hours and want to take a stroll. There are also summer concerts here. They sell out fast. It's right on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail so you can also hike up into the nearby canyon or along the Bonneville…
Summer concerts in the Garden will return one day, pack a picnic and listen to jazz rock blues... come checkout the greenhouse and usually there is rotating shows of glass work, painting, photography by local societies.
One of the largest botanical gardens with some hiking trials, beautiful and peaceful!

“And again, this museum is located in the same place as The Living Room Trailhead and Red Butte Gardens. The building itself is stunning and the location is beautiful. Check out their website for which exhibits are being featured.”

“Known for it's religious significance, the Salt Lake Temple also provides beautiful architecture and a very welcoming environment for both religious or non religious people. During Christmas time, the entire block is covered in Christmas lights. You might find horse carriage rides along the perimeter. Unique Experience, for families and solo travelers alike.”

“This is Salt Lake City's "Central Park". The Tracy Aviary is located here (a gorgeous park of gardens and well-cared-for-winged-friends. It is also not far from the 9th and 9th neighborhood with several great pubs and restaurants.”
