Visitors to Procida should not miss the chance to explore Vivara Island, a protected wildlife oasis since 1974 and a State Nature Reserve since 2002. This small, untouched crescent-shaped island enchants with its natural beauty, rare flora, wild rabbits, various birds, and significant Mycenaean archaeological sites. The sea around Vivara, teeming with marine life, is a paradise for fishing enthusiasts. Vivara, part of a former volcanic crater and linked to Procida by a pedestrian bridge from Santa Margherita (Marina Chiaiolella), boasts a rich tapestry of paths through lush, pristine vegetation. Its 0.38 km² area is a vibrant showcase of Mediterranean colors, changing with the seasons. The island's geography offers panoramic views, especially from its highest point at 109 meters, overlooking Procida and the Campania coast. Protected as a State Nature Reserve, Vivara holds significant natural, archaeological, and historical value, including Mycenaean and Bourbon-era remnants. The only structure, a 1681 hunting lodge built by Duke De Guevara, features a terrace with stunning views of Ischia. An early 20th-century swivel house by architect Lamont Young adds to the island's architectural interest.

Isola di Vivara, proprietà privata della Fondazione "Albano Francescano". Eccezionale esempio di conservazione della flora e fauna Mediterranea, dal 2002 è Riserva Naturale Statale. Sull'isolotto sono stati trovati i resti di un villaggio miceneo (XV sec. A.C.) ed ogni anno la campagna di scavi prosegue d'estate. Suggestivi i panorami che si godono sull'isola di Procida in modo particolare dalla sommità, dove nel XVII sec. è stato costruito un casino di caccia.
