My teenage daughter talked me into doing the BridgeClimb. I generally don’t like walking, or heights, but this experience is truly awesome. You learn a lot about the history of the city and how the Harbour Bridge was built, and you get to enjoy spectacular views of Sydney and the harbour from the top. It’s a special and bonding experience. There are a number of different climbs on offer, including a short 1.5-hour sampler where you only go halfway up, as well as one that goes all the way to the top—more than 1,300 steps—in 3.5 hours. I recommend booking a climb at sunset, when it’s unbelievably scenic and peaceful.
If you are in Sydney for the first time you must book yourself for this once in a lifetime experience. Must book in advance please go to the website for details.

“A 12-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay, this bushy harbour hillside is full of kangaroos, koalas and similarly hirsute Australians, plus numerous imported guests. If you are driving and staying a while, note that the zoo car park ($19 per day) is much cheaper than the metered parking on the streets around. Getting here by bus is the cheapest option; the M30 heads here from Wynyard.”

“If modern art is your bag, see this museum. You can walk there in 40 minutes or if you want to do a gallery day, it’s a 20 minutes walk to the Art Gallery of NSW in the morning and a further 20 minutes’ walk to MCA in the afternoon. Afterwards you might have a drink at one of the many watering holes in The Rocks.”

“Australia's most iconic bar. Australian producers are the heroes of the food, wine, and cocktail menus all designed to enjoy in the sunshine against the stellar harbourfront backdrop.”
