45 min trip to ski resort and awesome getaway to cool off during summer heat. Lots of hiking trails and camp grounds.

Mount Charleston is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 357 at the 2010 census. The town of Mount Charleston is named for nearby Mount Charleston whose Charleston Peak at 11,916 feet is the highest point in Clark County.

You can hike or even actually go snowboarding/skiing (in winter months) just 30 min away. I enjoy a hike up here when it is too hot for Red Rock. Higher elevation so it is always cooer up here.

Mount charleston is less than an hour away and offers another side of vegas that not many are familiar with. Plenty of places for picnics. If you are visiting in one of our many summer months, this is a nice get away as it is on average 20 degrees cooler. In the winter they offer tubing and other…
