Interest in sustainable energy, amazing views, short walks, the history of wellington! For just an afternoon or a day or even for overnight (camp or hire one of the 2 huts). Take the ferry from the waterfront! Highly recommended!

Access by East by West Ferry - supergold card holders can travel free at specified times. A historic and scenic island, ex quarantine island and now a nature reserve. Swimming is allowed at Matiu/Somes Island (but no fishing). Sea life is abundant!
