5 minutes walk away from the Cannock Chase Airbnb. Walk to the White Lion, cross Stafford Road and you are here already! Walking trails to Cannock Lake, enjoy MTB ramps or take a shortcut to the Shoal Hill Tavern for some lunch or dinner.

(1 mile, 20 minutes walk) Beautiful mix of heathland and forest, as well as Cannock Lake. First recorded by recorded by William Yates in 1775, Shoal Hill Common has been managed by the Shoal Hill Common Joint Committee since 1991 using practices such as a programme of bracken, tree and scrub control and heather rejuvenation via rotational cutting. These practices help to reinstate the open heathland for which Staffordshire is so famous. The aim is to ensure both the survival of a landscape and valuable wildlife habitat which is in major decline, and to ensure the diverse number of plants and animals survive both today and for future generations of local people.
