Old town of Girona is so extraordinarily complete that we recommend you to try very seriously to contact a guide or get informed before going in order not to miss any detail of this part of the city. It's the historical part of the city with over 2,000 years of history which is reflected in its buildings and constructions. It has two fortified enclosures, one Roman and another from medieval times. It also has the old Jewish quarter 'Call jueu', porched streets, Gothic buildings like the Girona Cathedral, Baroque monuments and places or Arab baths. Just something to keep in mind, you can't leave the town without kissing 'Cul de la lleona'(Lioness's butt)... Ask where to find it! The truth is that the cultural attractions of this city are so high and interesting that if you like history you will visit the streets and will never want to leave. Largest city of Northern Catalonia region, Girona is a home to museums, galleries and Gothic churches, strung around a web of cobbled lanes and medieval wall. The town of Girona has one of the main airport which connects Costa Brava with the rest of the Spanish Cities. Walk along its ancient fortress walls with breathtaking views, lose yourself in the splendor of the wonderfully preserved Jewish Quarter, marvel at the Arab baths dating back to the 11th and 12th century, tour the numerous historic landmarks. The impressive Cathedral of Girona certainly stands out. No wonder the sixth season of Games of Thrones was filmed here! In May, you can't miss the Temps de Flor festival. Its numerous flower decorations in the streets make Girona all the more beautiful.

Girona is a 50 minute drive from Begur. Have a walk at the medieval walks, check out the game of thrones spots, visit the museums or just visit the charming shops.
