Beautiful place to dip into the water. Visit the iconic black rock diving tower. Walk along the promenade and into Salthill village where there are many places to eat and drink. If you follow the prom all the way, you reach the claddagh. A quaint quarter with small fishing boats, swans, the river corrib.

On a sunny day in Galway a stroll down the Salthill promenade is just the ticket. You'll find locals and tourists alike taking in the views and sea air. On a clear day you might just see County Clare across the bay! If you're feeling adventurous, take a dip off Black rock swimming pier or enjoy a walk along the sandy beaches. The village of Salthill is about a 30 minute walk from Galway, and well worth a visit. There are great options for coffee: Ground & Co has lovely seaside views, Jungle cafe is right along the water for a takeaway coffee and Gourmet tart & Co has some cakes and pastries that are unbeatable. Restaurants in Salthill are top tier as well; Papa Rich is just above the Aquarium and its second floor windows offer a fabulous view of the bay. Black Cat is a cool spot check out, classy but laid back, this is the place if you're craving tapas and seafood. Da Roberta's is another option in town, great for pasta and pizza and this is just to name a few! There are also some fantastic bars in this little town, one of the most famous being O' Connors Famous Pub; yes, that is its real name! It's only open between 7:30pm - 12:30pm, but it is always packed with people and there's live music every night! Oslo Bar and Microbrewery is another gem in Salt Hill, with unique beers and a great menu for food.

Stretching all the way from the Claddagh Quay to the famous Blackrock diving tower, Salthill Promenade is a very popular spot for a stroll or a refreshing run along the seafront.
