This is the 'Old Town' , and packed with history as well as lots of cafes restaurants and independent shops. It has a Saturday Market with crafts, bric a brac and street food. It is worth visiting if you are near the National Museum on Chamber Street, or Greyfriars Bobby and Greyfriars Kirk. It can be quite lively at night.

Very nice area with lots of traditional pubs, very close to the flat. There is also a Market every Saturday from 10 pm to 5 pm. Food and handmade souvenirs can be found here. It is worth a visit.

Busy place in the middle of Old Town, lot of bars and restaurants, antique book shops, Saturday market and people everywhere;)
