Cashew milk infused with lavender, orange, and mint. Just-picked flowers. Breakfast burritos. Not what you’d expect opposite Sydney’s most famous beach, but these Saturday morning markets serve up local, artisanal, and flavourful in a truly memorable location. Both locals and visitors need to experience this—it’s an exercise in what makes Sydney, Sydney. Bring an empty stomach for a moving brunch degustation: stalls serve home-grown, handcrafted, and beautifully fresh bites, from organic flat whites and scrambled ethical eggs to baked-that-morning trays of muffins. Wash the crumbs off with a dip in that turquoise water—it’s just across the road.

“Indulge the taste buds at Gelato Messina The gelato here is hands down the best in Australia – it’s that good. There are 35 signature flavours, but what Messina is most known for is its ever-changing, week-long specials, which have included creative concoctions such as bougatsa (cinnamon-scented custard gelato with crispy filo pastry), Perfect Pearing (pear and white balsamic sorbet), and coconut and pineapple upside-down cake. Messina has stores dotted across the country, with its most recent addition to Bondi an ice-cream van parked down by the beach every weekend. My fav: Salted caramel - my taste buds are moistening just at the very thought!”

“Plenty of areas cater to different vibes, groups, pubs and friends hanging out with pool table, or their backyard outdoor area, or the top floor for a good dance night out when other places have closed.”

“If you're a lover of fish and other seafood don't miss North Bondi Fish when you come to visit. The quality and presentation of the fish that's served, the views and seemingly constant, fun buzz make it a perennial favourite. There's a great wine and cocktail selection too. ”
