Fun time on the Battenkill. Also look at Vermont River Runners. vermontriverrunners.com
A traditional summer pastime in southern Vermont involves packing a lunch, some drinks, deciding if it will be in a kayak, tube, or raft, and float down the Battenkill River. The Green Mountain water is cold but refreshing especially on a hot summer day.
West Arlington - Guests love to enjoy a float down the Battenkill River. Stop in the Wayside Country Store to pick up snacks, drinks & lunch at the deli. “Big Big” is right next door and only 4 miles from the domes.

“Are you on Route 29 in Greenwich? If, yes, you could stop and grab a few necessities if needed. Also in two different plazas you have a CVS, Dollar Store, and Jay’s Pizza. ”

“This new general store is located right on Cossayuna lake, and is great for picking up a few things you forgot to pack, browsing local artisan products, or sitting at the outdoor garden enjoying a coffee and breakfast sandwich in the shade. ”

“Local Farm to Table type Rest. Quaint, one of my favorites! Vegan options ( vegan ravioli is delicious)! Sweet Beet Humus, yum!! Make reservation to get a seat... great date place for special occasions as well. Serves just beer and wine.”

“Yummy local brewery. Stop by for a pint or get a growler to go. There's often a food truck parked outside on evenings and weekends in Greenwich. Lately its been Miller's Backyard BBQ, super tasty! It does sell out - call in advance to reserve your meal! Two locations: Greenwich has a small indoor tap room and outdoor seating in the alley, Cambridge is located in a historic train station and sometimes has live music.”
