Place of the statues of the Hungariam kings and leaders. From both sides the Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunshalle face the square.
Another one of Budapest’s superstar landmarks. It showcases statues of revered Hungarian leaders alongside the seven chieftains, while the square itself is flanked on both sides by museums. Behind Heroes Square is City Park where you can take nice walks, or if the weather is warm you can take a picnic. In the winter you can ice skate on the lake.
Heros Square commemorates Hungarian heros and has two art museums. The larger museum to the left of the Square is the well regarded historical art museum. It has great collections of European paintings and ancient Greek art. The smaller museum is contemporary, but not very daring in its exhibitions. Behind the Square is the Budapest Zoo, the Szechényi Baths and an eclectic castle.
