“Best steaks I have ever had! On the same road as my cottage. Just before hitting the busy area of down town. ”

Tourist Information Center
“Sugarlands Visitors Center has a great little museum, video in the theater room, and park rangers to help you design your explorations and provide maps. They can help you locate trails, scenic overlooks, and waterfalls custom suited for the endurance and time constraints of the visitors. I would recommend starting your explorations here. Cataract Falls hike is right behind the center, as well as another trail. Free.”

“I have actually never done this hike, but, The Laurel Falls trail is the most popular hike in the Smoky Mountains National Park because it is a relatively easy 2.6 mile roundtrip hike that is paved and provides hikers with an incredible view only of an 80-foot high waterfall. Directions: From downtown Gatlinburg, drive towards the National Park. When you see the Sugarlands Visitor Center on your right-side, make a right turn on Little River Road. After turning right, you will drive approximately 3.5 miles to the trailhead. The trailhead is easily identifiable with parking lots on either side of the road and identifying signage.”
