Picnic at Dane John Gardens. There you will find The Simmons Memorial where is very nice view of the Cathedral from the top. Also there is a lovely little Latino coffee/bar.

Nice for a short walk or football game. You can walk through the garden or along the top of Canterbury city wall. There’s a cute little coffee / tea shack half way through.

Dave John Gardens is something of a landmark for the city, and offers superb views over the surrounding historic homes and sections of the old city walls. There's also a lovely path that's lined by an avenue of lime trees, providing the perfect canopy for a break or a picnic.
