Sugar House is sort of my take on a classic saloon. We have a seasonal menu, so a lot of the drinks change quarterly. But we also have a standard list of 101 drinks. All of the ingredients in all of the cocktails, other than, say, lemons and limes, are grown or sourced in Michigan. The Sassafras Old Fashioned. It’s made with a whiskey from the local Long Road Distillers that uses 100% Michigan wheat. We mix in housemade cherry bitters, a recipe that took me two years to develop, made from three types of Michigan cherries. And then a Michigan buckwheat-honey sassafras syrup.

An incredible high end bar if youre into craft cocktails. Most of the bartenders here are competitive bartending champions and it shows! Cool vibe for a before dinner or after dinner cocktail!

Detroit's original craft cocktail bar. 101 classic cocktails + an incredible seasonal menu expertly made. Hard not to fall in love here. If they're busy, walk to Gold Cash Gold for a cocktail while you wait.
