A very traditional and old pub on the banks of the Ouseburn. Great craft beers, including a hearty selection of Northern Alchemy offerings. Most evenings this places fills up old folk musicians with their fiddles for a singalong.
Ouseburn. A proper, traditional pub. Often hold events (especially on a summer weekend), home to weekly folk nights.
Set on the edge of the Ouseburn valley The Cumberland is a beautiful, warm little pub with open fires during the winter and quality craic and ales all year round.
Proper pub - roaring fires in winter, good choice of ales and ciders (small brewery out the back). lovely views out across newcastle from the beer garden (ask for a comfort pack if it's freezing) there are often bands and events on upstairs or in the beer garden (often with street food available)…

“A cosy traditional pub only a minute away. Brilliant views down the river, and a beer garden for warmer times. Frequently hosts a stonebaked pizza stall, don't miss that if it's there!”

“Star & Shadow Cinema is more than a cinema. It is an alternative social, cultural, arts and community hub run by a collective of volunteers. The cinema hosts a huge and diverse array of screenings and events from DIY, independent and world cinema to club nights and language schools. It is a frinedly, welcoming space great for a cheese toastie or a pint and a dance later at night. ”
