The East Preserve is a magical! We love the Preserve as there are numerous free ranging cows and their babes roaming the trails. If you make it up to Kanaka Place you will find the most spectacular view of the Palomar Observatory and ocean.

Flat hike, lots of cows. Beautiful! (One our personal favorites). * Double check you are driving through “downtown” Julian to get to the trailhead. There are two Santa Ysabel East trailheads.
