Bobadela is well worth a visit and there is plenty there to keep you busy! Check out the visitor centre in town where you can watch a free 20 minute video telling you about the history of the region. Dont miss the restored ampitheatre next to it. The restaurant and bar at the museum close by are excellent and of course you can visit the museum of olive oil!

The National Olive Oil museum. An interesting experience with interactive screens illustrating the development of olive oil production since the Roman era till recent times. There is a a good restaurant with a panoramic view on the Estrela mountains.

With its architecture in the shape of an olive branch, here you can learn about the history of olive oil. In the 'Olea' restaurant, with panoramic view of the Serra Estrela, every dish has to feature olives.
