This is a most unusual place where you will see pieces of cloth hanging from trees which is a tradition dating back to Celtic times for the purpose of healing illness. There is a car park close to the well and there are also some nice walks in the woods surrounding the well.

Clootie wells are wells or springs, almost always with a tree growing beside them, with an assortment of garments or rags left, often tied to the branches of the trees surrounding the well, the pieces of cloth are generally dipped in the water of the holy well and then tied to a branch while a prayer of supplication is said to the spirit of the well. Pleasant walks through the woods.

Quirky local well with "healing" powers in the water. Local superstition.

A beautiful historic area which observes the ancient Celtic tradition of hanging rags from trees. There are a few of these places around Inverness and Culloden, but Munlochy hosts the largest collection.
