The potholes are round or long wells in solid rock. They occur by erosion of water that has seen rocks and gravel in rotating motions. Giant pots are most often found in rapids and waterfalls, where the lake has great speed and forms gorges. Giant pots can also be found in places where there are no rivers. These are derived from meltwater during the ice age. The potholes can be several meters in diameter and 10-20 meters deep. The river Fyresåna has for centuries swirled around with stones and gravel in the river bed, which has since been regulated for electricity production. Before the power builders went to the plant, the potholes were a well-protected secret under the lake. Only when a large part of the water masses were laid in pipes did the round depressions in the river bed become visible. This natural phenomenon is found all the way south in the municipality,

Popular swimming place due to the amazing stone-formations in Treungen. About 1 hour 15 min drive south of the cabin. (You can search for “Jettegrytene Treungen” on Google maps to get directions) The last bit is private road so you have to pay a small fee for driving and parking. The upper part close to the parking is great for smaller kids. Has a nice beach and some smaller puddles for them to play in. But be careful because the stoneground can be very slippery. Further down is great for bigger kids with waterfalls, natural slides and big ponds.
