Loveland Ski Area

If you want to ski like the locals, head back east on I-70 to Loveland. It's right on the Continental Divide, so it can get pretty windy!
This is the best mountain for families, affordable lift tickets and great terrain for beginners and experts. If you are lookin early enough check the website for a 4 pack, they can all be used in one day! If you are going to take lessons ask for Tracy Slacktowitz he is the best!
Loveland is a bit less expensive (and less swanky) than the other Summit County resorts, but still has great terrain and all the amenities (rentals, lessons, lodge, etc). Fun fact, the ski resort sits on top of the I-70 Eisenhower/Johnston Tunnel!
One of the closest ski resorts to Denver, where the locals frequent. Good mix of slopes.

“If you want to do THE COLORADO THING--skiing or snowboarding--Loveland Ski Resort is the closest to home and offers easy, intermediate, and advanced ski runs. If you are a novice or have never skied or snowboarded before, trust me... take a lesson first. It's much more fun and everyone learns faster that way. For uber-confident downhiller, you can book a FREE ride on the Ridge Cat to pristine upper terrain. Book as soon as you know you're coming. There are many other great resorts not too far away with lots of interesting amenities. We'll be happy to answer questions for you and research the lowest prices on passes.”

“Echo Mountain is a small local ski area. It is the closest to Conifer. It is about 1 hour drive. ”
