The Chedoke Radial Trail is a 2.7-kilometre section of the Bruce Trail that traverses the Niagara Escarpment. Designed to be a pedestrian and bicycle pathway, the trail can be accessed from the McMaster campus through the Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail via Beddoe Dr adjacent to the Chedoke Golf Course.

Beautiful wooded trail overlooking the cityscape of Hamilton. This scenic 2.7 kilometre path is part of the Bruce Trail and passes by the rolling green hills of the Chedoke Golf Club course off Aberdeen Avenue. It's a popular meeting point, not only for hikers, joggers and cyclists, but for those looking to push themselves by climbing the steep Chedoke Stairs (all 280 of them) that connect the lower city to the west mountain at the top of the escarpment.

There are some really nice hiking trails nearby and even a waterfall or two if you know where to look! Simply walk towards the mountain (what hamiltonians call the escarpment) and you'll be sure to find a smooth gravel path with good views slowly angling up the mountain, so a more rugged hiking trail that leads through trees and to a few waterfalls. be sure to ask for directions and we can show you exactly where to go.

Head into the woods on this wide scenic trail, that is part of the Bruce Trail, offering a gentle climb up the escarpment through the trees. If you start at the Chedoke Golf Course in south west Hamilton, look out for a small but pretty waterfall called Lower Chedoke Falls. Why Choose This Trail: A short pedal with a gradual incline that offers a brief respite from the city while serving up great views of both the city below and the Niagara Escarpment above. Terrain: Smooth dirt, gravel Distance: 2.7km Parking: Chedoke Golf Club, 563 Aberdeen Ave
