Access points are many! My favorites are the Burlington Waterfront, Shelburne Bay, and the Colchester Causeway.

Visit the lake! Kingsland Bay, Burlington Waterfront, LetsGoSailing, or many other options to spend time on the water. You can even walk or bike out onto the lake on the Colchester causeway.

HIT THE BURLINGTON BEACHES There are so many fun things to do in Burlington Vermont, and in the summertime that especially means the beaches! You may not think lakes have nice beaches, but that will change once you have a swim in Lake Champlain. Below we break down the 5 most popular beaches in Burlington from North to South! Starr Farm Beach: The furthest to the north and accessible from the bike path. A small collection of different beaches and never crowded. Leddy Beach: Leddy is a beautiful beach just steps from Burlington’s North End. You’ll also find a grass picnic area, tennis courts, and even an ice rink! North Beach: The most popular of the Burlington beaches especially with the college crowd. Expect North Beach to be packed on a hot summer day with plenty of partying. Also at the North Beach is the Beach House, the only place in Burlington where you can drink and dine right on the beach. With easy access to the beautiful Burlington Greenway, the Beach House offers a variety of dishes including salads, burgers, pizza, and snacks. Our Tiki Bar serves local and imported beer, wine, and tropical cocktails. Relax under an umbrella on the patio overlooking Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains while enjoying delicious food and refreshing drinks this summer! Throughout the summer The Beach House will host events with local breweries and distilleries, and have live music nights. Texaco Beach: The only dog beach and one of our favorite in VT! An afternoon at Texaco is one of the most fun things to do in Burlington Vermont. Blanchard Beach: Located right next to Oakledge Park, this beach is a great place to hang out South of downtown Burlington. In the summer there is spot with stand-up paddleboards available for rent.

  • Point of Interest
“Burlington's bike path is 12 to 13 miles, mostly right along Lake Champlain. To the north it continues through Colchester to a causeway that in the summer connects to the Champlain Islands via a bike ferry for a short gap where boats enter the harbor. The Burlington segment starting at the downtown was renovated last year and is spectactular.”
