Monastery Osios David in Drymonas. Northeast of Rovies, in a beautiful wooded area near the village Drimonas, the monastery of Osios David is located. Osios David was born in the first half of the 16th century (1519) in Gardenitsa town in Viotia. When "little David" was three years old, he was suddenly missing and his parents panicked. Six days after, he was found in a small church near his home. When they found him he said he went with John the Baptist, because he had asked him! This was a sign that David was not just a child. When he was 15 years old, he went to a monastery in the prefecture of Magnesia, because he wanted to be a monk. Because he was always very serious about his faith in progress, he commanded the respect of all the people around him and so he was given the name “David o Geron” what literally means “David the Elder”, referring to his serious behavior. The first time he was a monk, but later he became ruler of the Holy Monastery Varnakova in Nafpaktos (Central Greece).

Η Μονή του Όσιου Δαυίδ είναι ένας άλλος από τους πιο γνωστούς θρησκευτικούς προορισμούς στην Βόρεια Εύβοια, βρίσκεται στα χαμηλά των βουνών 'Καβαλάρης' και 'Ξηρόν Όρος' αντίκρυ του χωριού "Δρυμώνα".Απέχει 32 χλμ. από το εξοχικό και είναι αφιερωμένη στη μνήμη της μεταμόρφωσης του Σωτήρος. Στο ναό του Μοναστηριού φυλάσσονται σε καλλίτεχνη λειψανοθήκη τα θαυματουργά οστά του Οσίου Δαυίδ του Γέροντος καθώς και το θυμιατό και το πετραχήλι του Αγίου, ρωσικής προέλευσης.

Ο Αγιος Ιωαννης ο Ρωσσος και Οσιος Δαυιδ ειναι οι δυο προστατες για τους Ορθοδοξους κατοικους του νησιου της Ευβοιας Η περιπλανηση στο μοναστηρι μονο γαληνη και εσωτερικοτητα μπορει να σου χαρησει Κοντα ειναιτο φαραγγι του Δρυμωνα και οι καταρακτες μεσα στους βραχους και τα πλατανια.Φανταστικη διαδρομη!!!!
