About a 25 minute drive, the Nature Center trails for both the beginner and advanced hiker, offering pristine mountain views and glacier fed rivers. ernc.org

It's not so much a "center" as it is a collection of beautiful scenic trails that are fairly flat and easy.

As a former resident of Eagle River, I highly recommend this ultra scenic day trip from Anchorage. Perfect for the easy going sight seer, children, and hard core hikers.

42 Minute Drive Looking for an easy leisurely hike in an area surrounded by mountains with several viewing points for salmon and birds? This is a great spot for families to explore the Alaskan wilderness. These trails go for miles and have several different places it can take you. There is even a hike through the back mountains from eagle river to Girdwood, called crow creek pass. But that is a 2-3 day hike for most people. It is a good idea to bring bear spray in any of the trails you decide to hike.
