Upmarket dinner or just pop into their cafe. The road from this place to Spiddal is beautiful at sunset with sea views.

Popular throughout the area for dinner, White Gables consistently delivers good food. The crab claws with garlic butter are a firm favourite! Small groups or couples. Booking essential.

Natural Feature
“An approx. 45 km’s drive alongside the Upper Mask area, Lough Nafoey, mountain ranges, rhododendron and fuchsia hedges. You can make a mid-way stop at a local craft shop. One, but not the only one, is located right after the junction that leads to “Maam” after passing Lough Nafoey and the mountain area. It has seen better days but it might still be worth stopping for a tea. ”

Premise
“Located just two miles outside Oughterard, approaching from Galway on the N59, is this 16th century Irish Tower House. Much of the surrounding area was occupied by the O'Flaherty clan, up until this time, but was taken over by The first Earl of Ulster, Walter de Burgo, in 1256. The original castle was probably built by the Earl during this time but was re-conquered by the O'Flaherty Clan by 1300.”
