San Gregorio creek empties in the ocean here and in that, after a good storm, brings sometime huge tree limbs which quickly work themselves into drift wood. Sometimes you will find entire shelters made by people on the beach from the limbs that have drifted down from the redwoods. ”

“This is the closest park to Moss Beach Getaway for walking among the coastal redwoods. It's a lovely drive down the coast to Pescadero. Be sure to take the Little Butano Creek trail to see the redwoods and ferns. The trail is only a 1.5 miles hike, and keep your eyes peeled for the bright yellow banana slugs and the California newts.”
