Beautiful long stretch of sandy beach, with cafes walks and historical view points.
Great place for a walk in winter or summer, leave the car this side and take the chain ferry across, there is a great place to eat called the shell bay cafe which is also dog friendly in the restaurant.
Great natural beaches run by the National Trust reached via the ferrry at Sandbanks
Fine sandy beaches stretch continuously for 4 miles. The heathland behind the beach is a National Nature Reserve with many rare birds and all six British reptiles.
It's worth the longer drive, about half an hour, to this lovely sandy beach with a National Trust car park, but be sure to get there early in high season. Old Harry Rocks are nearby for great walking. There is a cafe too, but it's a perfect picnic beach.
