The park is a 212 acre day-use park with panoramic views of the pacific ocean. The lighthouse was first dedicated in 1898 and holds a significant piece of Westport's history.

There is clamming, bird watching, kite flying, beautiful sunset view, etc. Also, there is a trail along the ocean to the Viewing tower downtown. It’s a very nice walk, hike, bike or skating on a paved trail, approximately 2.5 ml one-way.
