Beltzville State Park in Lehighton (7-minute drive) offers a large, sandy beach and a playground for kids. There is also kayaks and canoe rental. Motor boats are allowed on the lake where you can go water skiing and tubing as well. No motor boat rentals. There are also hiking trails around the park.
