Peregian Beach is just 10 mins north of coolum. It’s a great little town if you feel like snooping around some nice shops, grabbing a coffee or heading out for lunch or dinner. Peregian has a great pub with live music and a number of nice restaurants to choose from, all of which back onto an open courtyard which makes it more child friendly for the kids to run around. There’s also a great little park for the kids just opposite the beach.
