Climb over 600 rock steps, 800 meters high for a rewarding view of the spectacular coast shore line
Mount Coolum track, the ascent to the summit is a bit-challenging but hikers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast, the village of Coolum and the hinterlands. The path crosses through several ecosystems of rare plants and transitions from open forest to woodlands, to shurblands. The summit of this national park is 208 metres above sea level. The path is 800metres one way or 1.6km up and back. The hike can take about two hours.

A short 15 minute drive and you arrive at Mount Coolum National Park. From the carpark at the base of the mountain you have a pleasant walk through natural bushland which leads you to the steeper slopes of the mountain. Arriving at the top you have breath-taking 360 degree views of the Sunshine Coast and on a clear day you can see all the way to the Glasshouse Mountains. Recommended to take your camera, walking shoes and a water bottle.
