The Wildflower Center is a gorgeous botanical garden open to the public year-round. Go for the spectacular architecture and beautiful gardens featuring exclusively Texas native plants recognized for their beauty and sustainability. For a fun 1-2 hours — grab lunch at the cafe, walk the grounds (or take a tour) and end the trip with a visit to the gift shop. October thru January — check out Fortlandia with the kids. Fortlandia is a collection of custom forts designed and built by local artists and designers. These creative spaces will transport you to imaginary worlds and spark an appreciation for art and nature. Your secret hideout awaits!

Go see the incredible outdoors at this special South Austin green-space! Native plants abound, and animals! You may be lucky enough to see the yearly nesting of the resident Screech Owl, whose nest is usually above the main door. Enjoy!
