Cute, hip, not to mention Instagram friendly spot, offering French based fare. Perfect offering for a date night. Located in Kensington Market, close to a number of other great bars and also music spots for afterwards.

Incredible cocktail and wine bar. Menu is mostly sharing plates, and changing regularly to incorporate seasonal ingredients. Great spot for a date or to sit alone at the bar.

Grey Gardens lives up to its bohemian-luxe address in Kensington Market; it's just vintage enough without feeling dowdy. Menu standouts here include sweet shrimp with compressed watermelon radishes and a dry-aged Peking-style duck breast, served on homemade sauerkraut and duck fried rice. Pop in for…

A Jenn Agg creation - need reservation (Black Hoof was amazing but closed now. I did not care for Le Swan).

“This restaurant has really incredible, delicious food and natural wines. Not cheap but excellent price point for the quality of the food and cuisine. All ingredients are sourced from Canada and menu is seasonal. Sharing menu is a must for first-timers. Chef does the extensive craft beer list as well and at this cozy place that feels like a living room with huge moroccan rug and teak furniture, you get to see the kitchen as you walk in the door! Home-made sourdough bread is to die for. ”

“The Cal-Ital cooking in this breezy, all-white room is vibrant and aggressively seasonal, like a salad of late-summer corn and lentils with Ontario goat cheese and chickpeas; deep-fried, ricotta-stuffed zucchini blossoms; and flatbread-like pizzas strewn with treviso, taleggio and figs.”

“Though Brothers is tucked away in an office building above the bustling Bay Station, slipping behind the curtain at the entrance feels utterly transportive. The menu is compact and changes with the seasons, but the shareable plates are beautifully executed. Expect things like crispy sweetbreads with mushrooms, a bright snapper terrine and house-made pasta. Its wine program is in perfect step with the food offerings, showcasing local and global producers with a lean towards biodynamic and natural producers. ”
