A small village deserted since 1926 with fantastic views across the bay to Weymouth. Good hours walking.
The ghost village of Tyneham with its perfectly preserved 1930s school room is visitable on days when the tank ranges are not firing!
Absolutely fascinating place where time stood still smack bang in the middle of an MoD firing range. Yep, that's right - you've got to pick the right day to visit (www.tynehamopc.org.uk) this village which was abandoned in 1943. Makes the kids appreciate life and all that they have.
Ghost village which was taken over by the M.O.D. during the war. Fabulous walk from the village down to the bay. Only open at weekends and holidays as it is in the firing ranges of the Lulworth Military Camp. Advice is to check before you visit
