Ghost village which was taken over by the M.O.D. during the war. Fabulous walk from the village down to the bay. Only open at weekends and holidays as it is in the firing ranges of the Lulworth Military Camp. Advice is to check before you visit
Unique place settled in Dorset small village of Tyneham, they left during the war and never returned, but the village has been preserved for visitors to enjoy. Also it has a lovely walk down to Warbarrow Bay.
For those interested in history, this is a place taken over for training troops for WW11. The memories of the inhabitants are there for all to see.
A great day out if you like history and interested in WW2. The beach is about a 15 minute walk there is a lovely cove which is usually fairly quiet. Great for a swim and picnic. Highly recommended.
An unusual and interesting place to visit. An old village which was taken over by the government for training. The village is still used but he army and has been left in ruins. A 1 mile walk takes you to one of my favourite beaches on the South Coast. It's a must go to place!

Lunch and dinner are served daily in the Garden Room, candle-lit Abbot's Cellar Restaurant and alfresco on the riverside terrace.”
