Newton House, Dinefwr Park and Castle are National Trust so free for members. Visitors can become members when they visit should they wish. Please be aware the car park in the grounds is National Trust so again only free to members. Newton House is of historical interest and there are the expected NT facilities; cafe, shop, toilets. There are large grounds including a Deer Park to explore with Dinefwr Castle boasting glorious views towards Carmarthen, Towy Valley and the Black Mountains.

Dinefwr Castle, a 20 minute drive, dates from the 9th century and is considered one of the most important castles in Wales. The castle is in the grounds of Dinefwr Park, also home to Newton House. The Park is a beautiful place for an afternoon stroll. Watch out for the many deer. There are events held within the park from March to November.

Beautifully maintained National Trust property, National Nature Reserve, historic house and 18th-century landscape park, enclosing a medieval deer park and Castle. Cafe, walking trails, explore the castle, activities, secret tours. Great fun for all the family.

Great walk from the cottage, lovely scenery. Visit the castle, grab a coffee or Dinefwr house. It’s our favourite walk.
