When it comes to telling the story of New Haven, Connecticut, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the history of Yale University. But with a broader focus, the New Haven Museum explores the city and region’s past through extensive collections housed in four permanent halls. Inside the museum, you’ll find a fine arts collection that showcases the landscapes of New Haven as they were when the town was just beginning. Additionally, discover the works of 17th century cabinetmakers, maritime artifacts, and a working replica of Eli Whitney’s cotton gin. Admission, Hours & Directions The Museum Galleries are open; masks are required at all times. Public hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 10 am to 5 pm; Saturday, 12 noon to 5 pm. Last entry is at 4 pm. Museum Galleries Admission: You may purchase either a timed entry by completing a reservation online and paying through Eventbrite or you may pay at the door. Adults: $4 Seniors: $3 Students: (12+): $2 Children (aged 12 and under): Free Members: Free Join today! From July 1 – September 5, 2022, Connecticut kids aged 18 and under and one accompanying Connecticut resident adult receive free admission to the Museum Galleries, courtesy of the CT Summer at the Museum program.
