This is a must see with the family. Experience the vibrant tranquility of desert plants nestled amid the red rocks of the Sonoran desert. It is a showcase of the allure and a "living art" demonstration of the botanical beauty of the desert vegetation and plants.

Truly a wonderful way to better understand the Sonoran Desert, close to Sky Harbor Airport so a great place to walk off the effects of sitting in a plane for a few hours or a great last stop before catching an afternoon plane. It opens at 8 AM. They also have Gertrudes, a well recognized…

The Garden’s five paved thematic trails introduce you to thousands of arid-land plants from around the world. Must-see events at the Garden include Las Noches de las Luminarias, the Music in the Garden concert series, and summer Flashlight Tours.

For a peaceful walk with beautiful scenery. During part of the warmer times of the year there are so many butterflies to be seen nearby. Around the Christmas holidays they normally have live music Christmas lights and my favorite was the hot apple cider drinks.

A really modern and well manicured place to experience the look and feel of the desert. It's 100% outdoors, so not the greatest spot from May until September, but beautiful the rest of the year around.

“Absolute best spot on a mountain to view the Phoenix Valley. Be aware, although it is a short hike, the trek can be rather steep in some areas. Moderate-high difficulty level. Very popular hike in the city so hike out early if you'd prefer to avoid crowds.”

“Beautiful area of ponds, pinic areas, bike trails and hike trails. Their are a few parks with ponds to check out some Arizona wildlife. The Hole-in-the-Rock is the reddish mountain formation. The hike trail there is easy and short, but again, a popular spot for sunset views of Tempe.”
